Upload Files to the Cloud Virtual Host
Scenario
This guide shows how to upload your website data to the cloud virtual host and finish testing. The example uses the archive web.zip and the domain test.com.
Upload methods
Three ways are provided to upload files to the cloud virtual host:
- (Recommended) Use the control panel file manager. Advantages: unzip files, edit online, change file permissions, one-click upload, and download files to the host from a URL.
- Upload files via FTP.
- Deploy the website with Git.
Prerequisites
Log in to the official website control center, select Cloud Virtual Host under Product Management on the left, select the host you want to manage and click “Manage” to enter the cloud virtual host admin console.
As shown below:

I. Uploading with the file manager
Overall flow: enter the console → click “Manage” → open the control panel → click “Files” on the left → open the httpdocs folder → click “+” to upload → unzip → move all files into httpdocs → delete or overwrite the default index.html → click “Open in web”.
- In the cloud virtual host admin console, click “Control Panel” to enter it.
As shown below:

- In the control panel, click “Files” on the left to open the file manager.
Note: all file operations must be done inside the httpdocs directory.

Note: all file operations must be done inside the httpdocs directory.

Delete the default files generated in the httpdocs directory:

- Click “Upload” to upload your website files or archive to the cloud virtual host.

You can choose one of the upload options. “Upload file” is for a single file (archives count as files). “Upload directory” is for an uncompressed directory. “Import file from URL” downloads a file from a web address, e.g. www.example.com/test.zip.
Taking the web.zip archive as an example (choose your own file in practice): click “Upload file”, select the archive, then click “Open”.

When the status below is shown, the upload is complete.

- Unzip the archive and move the files into httpdocs.
After the upload, choose to unzip the uploaded archive:

Click “Unzip”, choose “Replace existing files”, and confirm.

The files are extracted into a web directory; click it to enter. (Follow your actual file layout — if all website files were extracted directly into httpdocs and not into a subdirectory, this step is not needed.)

Note: to save space, you may delete the uploaded archive after extraction.
Click “Select all”, then “Move”, and choose the httpdocs folder:

Click to go up one level, back into the httpdocs directory:

-
(Optional) Change the default homepage. Refer to the documentation on changing the website’s default homepage.
-
(Optional) Click “Open in web” (domain DNS resolution must have taken effect) to test whether the site works. Click “Websites & Domains” on the left:

Move the mouse to the position shown below and click “Open in web” (or enter the domain directly in the browser).

If the page reports an error, fix it using the error message and logs, or refer to the documentation on common virtual host errors and solutions.
After the upload, refer to the documentation on binding a domain and setting up DNS resolution.
II. Uploading via FTP
- Download and install an FTP client. If not installed, download one — FileZilla is recommended.
- Log in to the official website, enter the control center, click Product Management → Cloud Virtual Host, and enter the cloud virtual host console.

- Get the FTP connection info:

FTP connection info:
- Server: the hostname for the FTP connection
- FTP username: the username entered in the FTP software
- Separate management password: the FTP password, which also logs in to the separate management platform
- Connect via FTP. Copy the info recorded in step 3 into the FTP client and click “Connect”.

- Upload files. In the directory, select all files to upload (left-click or Ctrl+A) and drag them into the httpdocs directory.

Choose “Overwrite” and “Always apply this action” to finish the upload.

Notes:
- If all website files sit in a directory such as www or web, enter that directory and copy from there.
- If the files are an archive, unzip it after upload — see step 4 of the file manager method above.
III. Deploying with Git
- On the “Websites & Domains” page, click the “Git” button.

- Click “Add repository” and enter the GitHub or private repository URL to finish the deployment.

Parameter description:
- Choose remote repository.
- Repository URL: the URL of the code repository holding the website files.
- Repository name: keep the default.
- Deployment mode: choose “Automatic”.
- Server path: keep the default (website files are placed in the httpdocs directory by default; click the button on the right to change it).
Click “Create” to finish the Git deployment.
